This guitar was created for Ashley Pugmire to help defer her medical costs for treatments she received at South Texas Innovative Medicine to help her battle reflex sympathetic dystrophy. It was designed by Reese Rini to be a screaming heavy metal ax. We wound the neck pickup to 13k and the bridge is a smoking 15k. we left the neck PU unwaxed this gives it a vintage sound... but on steroids. The body is solid maple, the neck is maple with a mahogany skunk stripe and a rose wood fret board. the bridge is a solid string through type, the tone and sustain are awesome.

August 2009, Ashley sustained an injury to her right foot and ankle.  After several months of various doctor visits, physical therapy, and testing they finally determined that she has a rare nerve damage injury called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome aka RSDS (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome).  For more information on RSDS you can go to this website South Texas Innovative Medicine.

If left untreated the pain can spread throughout the entire body. Within 6 months, it had already spread to her hip and started spreading up the right side of her back. At 8 month in had gone from her foot and ankle up her right side to her shoulder, across her back and into her left breast.  Dr. Rhodes at South Texas Innovative Medicine specializes in treating patients with this syndrome and has a 90% success rate. Treatments however must be done at the clinic in Corpus Christi, TX for 15 consecutive days and is extremely expensive. Ashley needed to raise about $8,000 for the treatments, not covered by insurance.  Ashley is hoping to be pain free so she can be a good mommy to her 2 little children ages 2 and 6.
